A little bit about me..
Chris Nyland laughingly describes himself as ‘your friendly neighbourhood workaholic’. And it’s probably true!
Chris goes on to say “ I’ve been with Loomis since 2004, so you could say I’ve invested a significant chunk of my life into this business. I didn’t stick around for the classroom; I jumped straight into the work and have now been at Loomis for more than 20 years. I believe in a strong work ethic - but I also know how to have a good time.I’m outgoing and love spending quality time with family and friends so when I’m not busy working you can often find me enjoying a cold Peroni.
I can’t wait to get to know all of you and share some laughs along the way!”
Q: What attracted you to Loomis?
My journey with Loomis has taken me through pretty much every department of the business..
I joined Loomis in 2004 as a driver guard but I was eager to learn every aspect of the business and I’ve climbed the ladder ever since.
From driver guard I moved into ATM engineering, then into the Vaults, followed by Shift Manager, Assistant Manager, Operations Manager, Cluster Branch Manager - and now I’m the Head of Operations.
It’s safe to say I’ve worked in almost every department at Loomis and gathered a treasure trove of knowledge along the way, enjoying the challenges and variety - and certainly fuelled by my passion for what we do.
Q: What is it like working at Loomis? What do you enjoy most about your role?
Working at Loomis is a thrill ride! I thrive on the unforeseen - logistics is unpredictable and anything can happen.
But I really love the challenge, the constant change, meeting new people, training them…
Being a manager at Loomis is both rewarding and demanding. One of the highlights is the dynamic environment; every day brings new opportunities and challenges.
I enjoy leading a dedicated team, fostering collaboration, and watching everyone grow in their roles. The most fulfilling parts of my job are making a positive impact on our operations and working with the amazing team here.
I thrive on solving problems, optimising processes, and ensuring our team stays motivated and productive.
