It will soon be time to raise a glass to the UK’s finest pubs and bars as finalists across 94 counties make their way to the Grand Final, which will take place at 30 Euston Square, London, on Wednesday 28 June. Back for 2023, the event will crown the best venues within the 94 counties across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland - recognising the winners for overall retail excellence, best practice and individual entrepreneurship.
Loomis will be there as one of the event sponsors and we are looking forward to hearing first-hand how the sector is faring after a very difficult few years.
Recent research shows that here is now much more diversification as pubs are evolving to suit their customer base and location. Some are becoming much more sports based, focusing on attracting large numbers to watch major sports events of all kinds, while others are much more family orientated. Yet more pubs are attracting considerable custom from groups keen to find a comfortable place to meet whether it is for a meal, a corporate event or simply networking.
Music is another popular option particularly among town centre pubs that lack a local residential community, and need to attract evening crowds. Acting as a venue for music groups provides a varied offering from pop to folk, jazz to blues, each of which attracts a different audience.
Many pubs have added their own micro-breweries on the premises whilst other landlords have focused on gaining specialist knowledge, offering high quality spirits or wine.
Gastro pubs have become one of the most popular business sectors, often owned and run by professional chefs. These are not formal restaurants, but places where people can enjoy the casual dining that is now so popular.
It’s a sector which is so much a part of the fabric of our society - and one which has had to evolve and change over recent years.
Whilst we can’t pretend to know how to pull a decent pint, Loomis will be able to offer some sound advice at the event on how to improve manual cash handling and reconciliation processes. With a need to maximise efficiency and profitability, manual cash handling can cost pubs and bars time and money - but Loomis SafePoint smart safe solutions can certainly help out behind the bar - automatically validating, counting, securing and reconciling takings whilst leaving team members to focus on delivering the best possible night out at the pub!
Find out how Loomis can help you cut costs while improving security and accuracy.
