MEET THE TEAM: Matt Brady

Q: Hello Matt, tell us a little bit about yourself..

Before I joined Loomis I’d had a varied career; after leaving school in 1987 I worked as a traditional butcher for one of the major supermarkets, moving on to direct sales and then working as a driving instructor. Whilst I knew that these roles weren’t truly for me they did teach me that I enjoyed working in people-facing environments.

But my career really got on track when I took what I thought was a temporary role driving for Securitas. 24 years and 7 months later, here I am, surrounded by a great team at Loomis and enjoying the career I’ve been given the opportunity to have.

My motto is ‘Start where you are, use what you have, do what you can !’  and I think that pretty much sums up my career to date.

Q: Tell us about working at Loomis..

Now you ask, it’s made me realise how much of my working life has been at Loomis.

Over the years, the company has evolved and changed considerably; I’ve been in branch management now for 12 years, leading 6 different branches in that time. I love the buzz when branches have success,  be it fine service, achieving financial targets and global awards , but nothing has given me more satisfaction and pride over the years than mentoring colleagues to success and promotions.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your role?

It has to be the team work.

My ‘Loomis life’ has filled a large part of my life, so I have to enjoy my time at work  and working with my teams currently, and over the years, has given me immense enjoyment, satisfaction – and success.  

And we all know that great things are never done by one person, they are done by a team of people.

Q: And to relax?

Family time, 80’s and 90’s music, following Arsenal F.C and picking up the bat for Leigh-on-Sea cricket club – and running. I find that running is a great way to clear my head, problem-solve – and come back refreshed to meet the day.
