A little bit about me..
I grew up in Nottingham and went to university in Lampeter, Wales where I studied Archaeology and Management. It was here I met my partner Mark and I’m now a proud mum to our 2 children.
I’m a passionate crafter (mainly crochet) and a dedicated 3rd Degree Black Belt in Shotokan Karate, quite a contrast! And both great ways of de-stressing after a busy day.
Q: What attracted you to Loomis?
I had dedicated time to the family and children but then began to work part time as a brand ambassador for a coffee machine distributor.
But it was time for me to get a different type of role and I’d been registered with an agency that suggested a vacancy at Loomis to me. Honestly, I hadn’t done some of the things in the job description but I was encouraged to apply as I was told Loomis had a strong training and development ethic. That’s certainly proved to be the case!
Also, luckily for me the Loomis office was just around the corner from home, and with 2 relatively young children at the time this was a real plus point.
Q: What is it like working at Loomis? What do you enjoy most about your role?
The most important thing for me is that I have an amazingly supportive manager who trusts me to do my job. Having started in January 2012 as a Commercial Support Administrator I was able to learn the role with a fantastic team to support me along the way. Over the last 13 years (the longest I’ve ever been with a company!) the role developed and I was able to support wider elements of the business, which evolved into a hybrid role working with Legal Counsel while still doing my commercial support role.
In 2024 I was promoted to my current role as Commercial Contracts Manager after being coached by Legal Counsel over the last few years. It was both exciting and scary when he retired!
There’s a strong ethic at Loomis to develop its staff, and my progression within the company is testament to that.
The best thing about my job is that not a day goes by where I’m not speaking to someone, there’s always something to do, so much variety. I really enjoy the busy environment and the job satisfaction at the end of each day.
Q: One final thought?
“It’s the teamwork that makes the difference.”
