Loomis supports access to cash with HSBC’s Cash Pod
Loomis UK is a vocal supporter of access to cash, strongly believing that cash is a lifeblood for many communities and small businesses.
So, we are extremely proud to be involved in the launch of HSBC’s first ever ‘Cash Pod’!
Like many banks, HSBC has been faced with some difficult decisions with regard to branch closures, but the bank remains committed to ensuring access to cash in areas where branches have closed. The ‘Cash Pods’ will make an important contribution to ensuring access to cash and Loomis, in association with Cennox, is to be responsible for the ongoing forecasting and replenishment of the cash for HSBC’s first ever ‘Cash Pod’ in Nailsea, Bristol.
Cash Pods can be used by anyone to withdraw cash and by HSBC UK customers to deposit cash. Users will also be able to check their account balance, print mini-statements, activate a card and reset the PIN, and make payments linked to their HSBC UK credit card. HSBC says the Pod will provide access to cash 24 hours a day for customers and non-customers alike, and will be fee-free. HSBC plans to open ten Cash Pods during 2024; the exact locations of the remaining nine are being finalised but are expected to include a farm shop, car parks and shopping centres, many of which will be powered by solar panels. They will also include access to defibrillators, bike racks and living walls, to bring extra greenery to the local areas.
